Cellar Dehumidifiers

Cellar Dehumidifiers are most suitable for use in cellar applications where cooler temperatures and the requirements to remove water can be more demanding.

A cellar dehumidifier is often a good solution to curing damp, mould and musty smells in a celler, hovever there are some considerations:

  1. If the damp is as a result of condensation then a dehumidifier will control/cure this well.
  2. If the damp is as a result of moisture coming through the walls/floor then a cellar dehumidifier may contain the situation but will never cure it.
  3. Temperature is fairly constant all year round in a cellar and rarely below 10C so you don't need a machine with elaborate defrosting capability.
  4. Think about how you want to get the collected water out - if you use the tank built into the dehumidifier then you will need to go down and empty the tank every 1-2 days.
  5. We now supply a standalone condensate pump kit that can be used with just about ANY dehumidifier providing it has a continuous drainage facility. Simply drain the water from the dehumidifier into the pump kit and it will pump the water up and away from the cellar fully automatically. Details are on the page below.
