The key criteria when choosing a car storage dehumidifier for use in garages and workshops is it's ability to operate efficiently at low temperatures. Standard domestic units will either not work at all or will ice up completely.
As a rule of thumb you need a dehumidifier that will circulate the volume of the car storage area through the machine at least once per hour. For example - the average domestic double garage is about 75m3 in volume so for this application the X-Dry dehumidifier model or the Ruby-Dry dehumidifier would be best suited. However, the exact choice of machine is dependent on other factors including the type of construction of the building its level of insulation and physical location, the likely frequency of air change from opening the doors, the ambient temperature etc.
